The long winter months in the Nordic countries inspire a variety of wonderful songs and melodies about their traditions, histories, and cultures – from national songs, hymns and celebrations to folk songs about daily life. They describe magnificent fjords, mountain vistas and life on the seas; they invoke emotions ranging from love and longing to joyful and humorous folk songs. Most of our songs are sung in Norwegian, but we also sing songs in English, Swedish, Icelandic and Danish. We may try Finnish or Sami in the future! Our Director always has new songs for us to consider, and our members can suggest songs as well. Our goal is to enjoy singing in a friendly and positive atmosphere.
